Anna Louise (Steffie) Butler

January 4, 1943 — January 31, 2022

Anna Louise Butler, 79, of Pine Grove, peacefully left the earth on January 31st, 2022, at Lehigh Valley Health in Pottsville.

Born in Lebanon on January 4, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Eva (Osachuck) Steffie of Auburn.

Anna attended Auburn and Schuylkill Haven Schools, finishing early to care for her ten brothers and
sisters.
She had worked most of her life housekeeping for people in the community.
In addition to her family, Anna adored animals of all kinds, especially dogs and cats. Her number one house rule was that bugs had to be released safely outside, and she could never be without a dog. Everybody who met Anna immediately took to her loving heart and unfiltered sense of humor. A moment with Anna was never dull, and she remained the life of the party, even to the very end. She rarely had it easy in life, but always spoke fondly of each moment and fought through everything without a complaint. She was the epitome of strength. She loved being a grandmother, as she spoiled everyone and everything she loved. She treated anyone she met like family.
In addition to her parents, her older brother, Samuel and her younger sister, Cassandra, Anna is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Lamar L. Butler Sr., who passed away 7 Dec 2021. Anna is survived by her daughter, Sheila, wife of James Cavaluchi of Pine Grove, two sons, Scott, husband of Tina Butler of Schuylkill Haven, and Lamar Jr., husband of Carol Butler of Pine Grove. She is also survived by her pride and joy: her six grandsons Zachary, Nathaniel, Dakota, Colton, Wyatt and Alexander, all of Pine Grove, a great grandson, Giannis, her Boston Terrier, Molly, nine younger siblings, Barbara, Patricia, Mary-Jane, Robert, Daniel, Lucinda, Richard, Dale, and Kim, and several nieces and nephews.
As one of her final requests, family and friends may honor Anna Louise’s life by making donations to the Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you simply do something nice for someone to keep the spirit of Anna’s generosity alive. Make somebody laugh and remind them that they are loved, just as Anna never failed to do.
