Anna E. "Betty" Frantz

Anna E. "Betty" Frantz, 90, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Monday at Moravian Manor, Lititz.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, March 6, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth McGugart Sieck.

She was the widow of William Rush Frantz Jr., who preceded her in death in 1981.

Betty was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and had worked as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Co., and the former Pottsville Hospital as a switchboard operator for 21 years.

She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.

Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, playing pinochle with friends and Phillies baseball.

She is survived by a son, William R. Frantz Sr. and wife, Teresa, Lancaster; a daughter, Diane Beck and husband, William, Danville, Calif.; grandchildren, William R. Frantz Jr. and wife, Amy, Philadelphia, Meghan Butler and husband, Andre, Levittown, and Alex Beck, Danville, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Shannon and Will Frantz, Robert and Taryn Wright, and Aliyah and Andre Butler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, with Monsignor Edward S. Zemanik officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will immediately follow Mass at St. Ambrose Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to American Diabetes Association  , 1701 N. Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311 orAmerican Cancer Society  , 101 Frack St., Frackville, PA 17931-1734.
