Ashley Marie Wollyung, 34, of Auburn, passed away Friday at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
Born in Pottsville, Sept. 11, 1983, she was a daughter of Annette M. Onuskanich and Edward J. Woll, Auburn.
She served in the Army as a private second class in the 101st Airborne with the 506th Infantry Regiment. She performed a tour of duty in Iraq at Camp Loyalty in 2006. She received the Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Army Service Ribbon and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
Ashley was a graduate of Pottsville Area High School and was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a clerk typist. She was a Girl Scout Leader and involved with Relay for Life.
Ashley was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Leo and Kathryn Woll; maternal great-grandmother, Christine Onuskanich; maternal great-grandfather, John Katchmir.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter, Addison Wollyung; brothers, Shawn Woll (companion, Hilary Lee) and Gregory Woll (wife, Laura Quinter); nieces and nephews, Ava, Jacob, Aliyah and Greyson; maternal grandparents, Paul and Joanne Onuskanich; Aunt Paulette Onuskanich Althouse; Uncle Paul J. Onuskanich; Uncle Timothy Althouse; Aunt Denise Onuskanich; Aunt Belinda Balcavage; cousins, Taylor and Travis Althouse, Danielle Raczka, Jennifer Yerusavage, Paul Onuskanich Jr. and Michael Trainer; friends to the end, Tara, Nikki and Sara; other aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A viewing for family and friends will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 11:30 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Addison Wollyung Education Fund, c/o Santander Bank, 24 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
