Barry R. Schwartz, 68, of Wayne Township, passed away Monday at Reading Hospital, West Reading, Berks County.
Born in Reading, Aug. 31, 1946, he was a son of the late Stanley F. and Irma Moyer Schwartz.
He was the husband of Sharon D. Boger Schwartz.
Barry was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, Class of 1964.
He was an active businessman in Schuylkill County, involved with several businesses over the last 48 years.
Barry was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Friedensburg, where he served on the endowment committee and was formerly a member of the church council.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Gregory, Dale and Brian Schwartz.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Sharon M. Moran and husband, Thomas, Minersville; a son, Christopher B. Schwartz and wife, Martina, Alexandria, Va.; grandchildren, Jaynie, Chelsea, Tommy and Max Moran and Nathan and Clive Schwartz; a stepbrother, Jacob Schwartz; aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Friedensburg, with the Rev. Carl Shankweiler officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will follow the service at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery, Friedensburg. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to St. John's Lutheran Church Youth Group, P.O. Box 86, Friedensburg, PA 17933 or to St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 201 Randel St., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
