Betty P. (Schaeffer) Boyer

Betty P. (Schaeffer) Boyer, 69, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday, Dec. 26, at Geisinger St. Luke's Hospital, Orwigsburg.

Born May 19, 1951, in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Lois (Romberger) Bosna and Paul Schaeffer.

Betty was the wife of Sterling "Dick" Boyer.

She was a 1969 graduate of Saint Clair High School. Then, she was employed by various local textile factories. She retired from the former Jetson Direct, Hamburg.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Leslie, who passed away Dec. 4, 2020; Leslie's twin brother who passed away at birth, Sterling Jr.; a brother, Dale Schaeffer.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Yvonne Nester, wife of Mark, Schuylkill Haven; granddaughters, Lydia and Julie Nester; siblings, Donald Schaeffer, husband of Kathy, of Deer Lake, Corine Hunley, of Florida, Wade Schaeffer, husband of Kristine, of Florida, Sharon French, wife of Bobby, of Florida, and Wanda Williams, wife of Ted, of Florida; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life memorial service to honor Betty and her daughter, Leslie, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Schuylkill Haven, with Pastor Ted Rathman officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held at 6 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the church.
