Carl E. Wildermuth, 93, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, at St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem.
Born May 17, 1927, in South Manheim Township, he was a son of the late Earl and Celia (Reber) Wildermuth.
Upon graduating from high school, Carl served in the Army.
He had been employed by the former Reider Shoe Factory, Schuylkill Haven.
Carl was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Summer Hill Road, Auburn.
Carl was an avid reader, interested in many subjects and topics, especially history. He loved gardening and nature. He supported many things that were important to him, such as veteran and conservation and wildlife organizations and the Smithsonian Institute.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his sister, Mae I. Lied, of Adamstown.
A graveside service conducted by the Rev. Kathleen Ash-Flashner will be held at Reedsville Cemetery on Tuesday, April 6th at 11 a.m.
At the family's request, memorial donations in Carl's memory may be forwarded to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1185 Summer Hill Road, Auburn, PA 17922.
