Carol J. Sweigert, 71, of Wayne Township, passed away Friday at her residence.
Born in Wayne Township, March 28, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Edna Kerschner Roeder.
A graduate of Blue Mountain High School, she was employed as a machine operator at Jettison Direct Mail, Hamburg.
She was the wife of Larry Sweigert. They celebrated their 26th anniversary in December.
Carol was preceded in death by a son, Brad Reich, in 2001; and two brothers, Donald and Lee Roeder.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Todd Yeich, husband of Jody, Schuylkill Haven; two stepdaughters, Lisa Sweigert, Hamburg, and Connie Harig, wife of Paul, Summit Station; a stepson, Larry M. Sweigert, Enola; four grandchildren, Renee and Matt Yeich, Sydney Harig and Jennifer Lilick, wife of Gary; four great-grandchildren, Gaven, Jayden, Addison and Tobias; nieces and a nephew.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., 26 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Kathleen Ash-Flashner officiating. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Summer Hill Cemetery.
