Charles W. Kiehner

Charles W. Kiehner, 89, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Charles was born in Friedensburg, Dec. 16, 1926, a son of the late Harry and Lottie Kramer Kiehner.

He was the widower of Gladys S. Somers Kiehner.

He was a graduate of Cressona High School and served in the Army in World War II.

He worked as a cabinet maker at Haven Line Industries, Schuylkill Haven, until retiring in 1991.

He was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Schuylkill Haven.

He was preceded in death by two sons, William, in 1992, and Wayne, in 1987; sisters, Lillian E. Moyer and Margaret Freeman.

Charles is survived by a daughter, Brenda Kiehner, Reading; two grandchildren, William and Elizabeth.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Gesch-windt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Ted Rathman officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, South Central PA Chapter, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110. Interment will be in St. John’s Union Cemetery, Friedensburg
