Charlotte R. Blankenhorn, 87, formerly of Cressona and Providence Place, Pine Grove, passed away Wednesday at Orwigsburg Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Cressona, Sept. 24, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Lulu Sweigert Butz.
She was the widow of Robert W. Blankenhorn, who passed away April 1, 2009.
She was formerly employed by Cressona Knit as a machine operator.
Charlotte was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona. Charlotte also belonged to Cressona Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Charlotte was preceded in death by two brothers, Nathaniel N. and Paul Butz; and sisters, Eleanor Kramer, Doris Balsai and Alberta Spolski.
She is survived by a son, Ray R. Blankenhorn and wife, Nancy, Schuylkill Haven; a granddaughter, Tracy Blankenhorn, Cressona; a sister, Gladys Hartranft, Schuylkill Haven; and goddaughter, Beverly Laubenstine Reppert.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Ebling Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona. A Celebration of Life funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Nathan Druckenmiller officiating. Interment will follow the service in Cressona Cemetery.
