Dennis P. Durant

Dennis P. Durant, 65, of Port Carbon, passed away Tuesday October 17, at Lehigh Valley Health Network-Cedar Crest.

Born in Pottsville, Dennis was a son of the late Richard P. and Josephine (Kalyan) Durant.

He was a retired Major, Chief of Security of the Pennsylvania State Correctional Institution system for 28 years.

He attended Nativity BVM High School and was a proud graduate of York College of PA. Dennis was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary Ann, and son Michael, at home. He is also survived by one brother, Richard M. Durant (Carole), a niece Stephanie Tovsen (Daniel), and a nephew Steven Durant (Stephanie), all of Alaska.

Per his wishes, there will be no funeral services.
