Dorothy Leah Singley, 92, of Schuylkill Haven passed away Saturday, July 20th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill, E. Norwegian St., Pottsville.
She was born in Pottsville on October 16, 1931, a daughter of the late Leah Rebecca (Butz) and John Williams Bedford.
Married 51 years, Dorothy was the widow of John C. Singley.
She was a 1950 graduate of Cressona High School.
Dorothy was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona.
Employed by The Call newspaper, she designed pages and advertisements.
Dorothy was a member of St. Mark's UCC in Cressona. She sang with the Schuylkill County Chorus and was a member of the Cressona Historical Society.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sisters: Helen Oberst and Marian James and a son, David Singley.
Dorothy is survived by two grandchildren: Geoffrey David Singley and John Henry Singley, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, August 3rd, at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona with the Reverend Kevin Fruchtl officiating. Family and friends may gather from 10:30 AM until the time of the service.
Interment will be held at a later date at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
