Earl R. Kremer

Earl R. Kremer, 87, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, April 11, 1928, he was a son of the late George and Hilda Becker Kremer.

He was the widower of M. Gloria Steranko Kremer, who passed away Aug. 14, 2012.

Earl proudly served in the Army, achieving the rank of corporal.

He was formerly employed by Motor Loan Services, Pottsville, as a loan officer.

Earl was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Schuylkill Haven, where he sang in the choir and previously served as groundskeeper.

He also belonged to Tri-County Wing Snappers, Trout Unlimited, and was a former chaplain for Robert E. Baker Post 38 American Legion, Schuylkill Haven.

Earl was heavily involved with The Belvedere's Drum & Bugle Corps. for many years. He was a past president from 1966 to 1974.

In addition to his parents and wife, Earl was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Ella Kremer; grandson, Gary Whalen; brother, Harry Kremer; and sister, Carol Tamborelli.

Earl is survived by a daughter, Louise A. Schickram and husband, Joel, Auburn; a son, Richard E. Kremer and wife, Jane, Schuylkill Haven; six grandchildren, Keith Whalen and wife, Christine, Shanna Wertz and husband, Joseph, Joshua Kremer and wife, Nicole, Jennifer, Joel and Ashley Schickram; and five great-grandchildren, Solomon Bonzi, Cyler Whalen, Brinley Elizabeth Wertz, Zoe Jones and Rylan Dechert.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Ted Rathman officiating. A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will be conducted privately in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at the family's convenience. At the family's request, memorial donations in Earl's memory may be sent to The Belvedere's Drum & Bugle Corps., 21 Earl Ave., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
