Edgar A. Meade, Jr.

Edgar A. Meade, Jr., 88, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday, April 27th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill, E. Norwegian St., Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, on September 17, 1932, he was a son of the late Edgar A. Meade, Sr. and Florence A. (Morrison) Meade.

He was the husband of Shirley A. (Bohler) Meade. The couple would have celebrated 66 years of marriage May 7th.

He was a 1950 graduate of Pottsville Area High School, and served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was a distributor for Coca-Cola and Tastykake.

He is preceded in death by a stillborn sister Florence A. Meade.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by a daughter Deborah Meade, Schuylkill Haven; a son Edgar "Ted" Meade, III husband of Debra, New Ringgold; grandsons: David, Joshua and Matthew Meade; great grandchildren: Tiffany, Crystal, Bryan, Summer, Caleb, Lydia, Esther, Ruby, Hazel, Anna, Lilly and Danny.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 2nd at Blue Mountain Christian Retreat in New Ringgold, with Rev. Edgar A. Meade, III officiating.
