Edmund M. "Ed" Portko, 67, of Auburn, passed away Tuesday, November 30th, at St. Joseph's Medical Center, Reading.

Born in Anchorage, Alaska on May 3,1954, eldest son of Winifred A.(Rohloff) Portko-Buonora of York, PA and the late Edmund T. Portko.

He was the loving, caring husband of Joyce M. (Mummert) Portko, with whom he loved to travel.

He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.

Ed was a 1972 graduate of York Suburban High School and then attended Penn State University, York Campus. He was Vice President of Sigmet Corporation, Reading. He also enjoyed time as Deputy Waterways Conservation Officer for the PA Fish and Boat Commission from 1998 until his retirement in 2019.
Ed had the biggest heart and loved to bring joy and smiles to those around him.
He cherished his family more than anything and he always said “without family, you have nothing”.

Ed was preceded in death by his sibling Thomas B. Portko and son Leon Estep, III.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Rebekah Chinault (Matthew), York and Bradley L. Anderson, Jr., (Tiffany), Manchester; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren including Ryan Lynch, Aaron Vandermark, Cory Anderson (Brittany), Casey Bonham (Matthew) and Marissa Anderson; great grandchild Ryden Anderson; siblings Stephen Portko (Stacy), York Springs, Elynn Shelley, York, Cheryl Harbison (James), The Villages, FL and Janice Gilbert, Vero Beach, FL; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Services and interment are private at the convenience of family.
