Edward R. Bachert, 81, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday, December 25th, at Rosewood Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven.
Born in West Penn Township on October 19, 1934, he was a son of the late Roy J. & Angeline (Yanis) Bachert.
He was the husband of Ethel M. (Gipe) Bachert.
Ed was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven, and the Teamsters Union.
He was formerly employed as a truck driver.
In addition to his parents, Ed was also preceded in death by an infant sister, Diane, sister, Doris, brother, Joseph, and brothers-in-law; Carl “Red” Gipe, and Ray “Chet” Gipe.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by five sisters: Arlene Faust, Hamburg, Mary Steinert & husband, Herb, Orwigsburg, Anna Goldfedder & husband, Mark, Hellertown, Betty Remaly & husband, Wayne, Coplay, and Patricia Zellner & husband, Willard, Ballietsville, and two brothers: Robert Bachert & wife, Nancy, Arizona, and John Bachert & wife, Cathy, Coplay.
Ed is also survived by sisters-in-law, including Betty Folajar, Allentown, and a brother-in-law, Lee Gipe, FL, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 30th, with Rev. Janet Lewis officiating.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
Interment will follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
