Edward H. Fisher, 82, of North Manheim Township, died Saturday at his home under the care of his family, companion and hospice.

Edward was born in Schuylkill Haven, a son of the late Elwood and Amy Witman Fisher.

He was the widower of Dolores Horstman Fisher, who died in 2007.

He was a graduate of Pottsville High School in 1953.

He attended Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven.

He retired from ARGO Corp. and last worked for West End Motors, Pottsville.

He served in the Army.

Ed enjoyed camping, snowmobiling, hunting and traveling to 27 different states in a VW van and a camper. He also enjoyed collecting Christmas houses and playing cards.

He was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.

Ed is survived by four sons, Vernon, husband of Terri Fisher, Phoenix, Ariz., Franklin, husband of Susan Fisher, RD Pottsville, Rodney, husband of Tina Fisher, RD Pottsville, and Edward, husband of LaRue Fisher, Endicott N.Y.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a companion, Christine Hoffman; a sister, Blanche Koehler, Orwigsburg.

A religious service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven. Friends are also invited to call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven. Interment will be at Schuylkill Memorial Park.
