Edward C. Golca

Edward C. Golca, 86, of Pottsville, passed away Friday, November 26th at Geisinger St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg.

Born in Pottsville on April 20, 1935, he was a son of the late John Golca who immigrated from Russia, and Anna (Ruble) Golca, who immigrated from Austria.

In addition to his parents, Eddie is also preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Kaplar) Golca. The couple had married on July 18, 1964.

He graduated from Pottsville High School in 1953.

Eddie worked as a self-employed mechanic all his life. In the past, he had service stations in Pottsville and he currently worked at his shop in Cressona.

He had been a member of the former Mary Queen of Peace Church, Pottsville, as well as St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. Eddie is a current member of St. Michael the Archangel parish, Minersville.

He was a life member of the Yorkville Hose Company, Pottsville, and the Six County Firemen's Association.

Eddie loved going to and watching his favorite baseball team the Oakland A's.  He also enjoyed polka music.

A private graveside service will be conducted by Eddie’s friend, Monsignor William E. Handges at the convenience of the family.
