Edward A. Hallick, Sr., 85, of Pottsville, passed away Sunday, September 11th, at Rosewood Nursing Home, North Manheim Township.
Born in Pottsville on May 25, 1931, he was a son of the late John & Florence (Yakaitis) Hallick.
In addition to his parents, Ed is also preceded in death by his wife, LaVerne (Neade) Hallick, as well as brothers; John, Bernard, Richard & Anthony Hallick, sister, Joan Mochnoc, and grandson, Jason Stramara.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was formerly employed as a supervisor at Atco, Reading.
Ed was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.
He is survived by a son,Edward A. Hallick, Jr., & wife, Iva, Auburn, and a daughter, Carol Neifert & husband, Kenneth, Deer Lake, grandchildren; Eric Hallick & wife, Crystal, Steven Neifert & wife Doreen, Cheryl Neifert & Michelle Neifert, great-grandchildren; Trent & Jason Hallick, Summer & Gavin Stramara, Tyler & Kyle Neifert and Brody Golca. He is also survived by three sisters, Florence Correl, Laureldale, Ruth Boteck, Port Carbon, & Christine Ellex, Pottsville and a brother, Michael Hallick, Pottsville.
A viewing will be held Sunday from 5 - 7 p.m. at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, PA, at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 19th, with Rev. Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik officiating. There will be no viewing prior to mass.
Interment will follow mass at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
