Edward M. Tkacik Sr., 93, of Cressona, passed away Tuesday at his residence.
Born in Beaver Falls, Sept. 1, 1923, he was a son of the late John and Mary Ondrusek Tkacik.
He was the widower of Eleanor Mitsky Tkacik, who passed away Jan. 22, 2002.
Edward was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.
He proudly served in the Army Air Corps.
Edward was formerly employed by Sperry Gyroscope as an electronics technician for more than 35 years.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by his dearest companion, Ruthanna Doerstler.
He is survived by a daughter, Marie Tkacik and husband, Howard Barnes, Warrington; a son, Edward Tkacik Jr. and wife, Beth, California; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Florence Strouphauer, Pine Grove; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:15 a.m. Monday at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, with Monsignor Edward S. Zemanik as the celebrant. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the church chapel. Interment with military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
