Edward E. "Ernie" Moyer, 88, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street.
Born in Schuylkill Haven, Feb. 23, 1927, he was a son of the late Irvin and Sadie Fisher Moyer.
Ernie was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven, and was formerly employed by both Reider's and The Walk-In Shoe Co., as a machine operator.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by six brothers, Elmer Wildermuth, Henry E. Moyer, Robert D. Moyer, Herman L. Moyer, David W. Moyer and Walter Moyer; and four sisters, June V. Potts, Catherine Moyer, Reta I. Rhodes and Verna Moyer.
He is survived by two sisters, Dorothy S. Moyer, Schuylkill Haven, and Sylvia B. Weikel, widow of James, Cressona; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. David Rowe officiating. An additional time for viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
