Eileen M. Letcher, 83, of Mount Carbon, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 25th, at the Reading Hospital, surrounded by family.
Eileen was born in Pottsville, on August 9, 1933, a daughter of the late Helen (Cowhey) and Allen Miller.
She was the widow of James S. Letcher, to whom she was married to for 35 years.
She was a Pottsville High School graduate, class of 1951, and was formerly employed by the YWCA as Executive Director.
She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville; Torch Bearer Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Schuylkill County Garden Club. She also founded the Breast Cancer Support Group in Pottsville.
In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by siblings Mary Kreager and Thomas Miller and a grandson Matthew Dunn.
Eileen is survived by five daughters, Carol E. Hahn (James), Columbia Maryland, Karen K. Bondura (Dave), Port Carbon, Linda L. Letcher, Macungie, Beth A. Landis (Daniel), Elysburg and Mary Jo Dunn (Kerry), Sinking Spring; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Eileen is also survived by siblings James Miller (Loreen), Orwigsburg, Carol Leffler, Downingtown, Joan Cartwright, Auburn and William Miller (Barbara), Cressona; sister in law Joan McDonald, Pottsville; brother in law Robert Letcher, Sumpter, SC; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, on Friday, June 30 at 11:00 am with Rev. Harold Hand officiating.
A visitation for family and friends will be held Friday at 10 am until the time of the service at the Church.
Interment will be private at convenience of the Family.
