Eleanor O. (Wildermuth) Jamison

Eleanor O. Jamison, 89, of Pine Grove, passed away Sunday, May 14th, at Providence Place, Pine Grove.

Born in Port Carbon on November 25, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Robert & Olga (Shipe) Wildermuth.

Her beloved husband of 68 years, Jacob J. Jamison, preceded her in death just ten days prior on May 4, 2023. They were wed on October 16, 1954.

Eleanor was raised on her family's farm on the Summer Hill, Auburn.  She graduated from Cressona High School, Class of 1951.

She spent many years as a full time homemaker, but also worked as a secretary for Alpha Mills, Canoe Mfg., Miller Bros. Construction, and Thrivent. Eleanor supported her husband's beekeeping business as his bookkeeper.

Eleanor was known as an excellent cook and pie baker. She was a loving Mother and Nana to her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.  She was an avid reader and embroidered many family heirlooms.

She was a lifelong member of Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church of Reedsville, where she served as church pianist for 60 years.

Eleanor began playing piano for the Sunday School at age 13.  She also sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and was the Children's Choir Director.

She is survived by three daughters: Beth, wife of Richard Lutz, Cynthia, wife of Jeffrey Freeman, all of Pine Grove area; and Heidi, wife of James Irwin, of Marietta, PA; grandchildren: Rebecca Lutz of Friedensburg, Blair Freeman of Philadelphia, Evan Freeman, husband of Beth, of Manheim, Lauren Irwin of Marietta, and Luke Irwin of Marietta; great-granddaughter, Abigail Freeman of Manheim; two sisters: Margaret, wife of Nathan Heim, of Auburn, and Jean Bolton, of Cressona, and nieces & nephews.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 18th at Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church of Reedsville, Schuylkill Haven at 11 AM.  A viewing will be held at the church from 10 AM until the time of service.  Interment will follow at Reedsville Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.
