Elizabeth J. Eifert, 74, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown.
Born in Schuylkill Haven, Aug. 11, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Harold A. and Elizabeth Ella Paul Palmer.
She was the loving wife of James C. Eifert Sr.
Betty was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1959, and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Schuylkill Haven.
She was formerly employed by the former Messner & Hess 5&10 in Schuylkill Haven, and Hallmark in the Fairlane mall, Pottsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Hoffman.
In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Sinton and husband, William, Auburn; a son, James C. Eifert Jr. and wife, Tedda, Pottsville; grandchildren, Eric, Lindsey and Conner; two sisters, June Flynn, Norristown, and Maggie Zettlemoyer and husband, Charlie, Linglestown; brother-in-law, Ray Hoffman, Orwigsburg; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Schuylkill Haven, at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 19, with the Rev. Dr. Christopher Fisher officiating. A visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 19 until the time of service at the church. Interment will follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. At the family's request, memorial donations in Betty's memory may be sent to American Cancer Society , 101 Frack St., Frackville, PA 17931-1734 or HAP Palmer Fund, C/O First United Methodist Church, 420 Saylor St., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
