Emily Mae (Zimmerman) Reber

January 13, 1929 — March 30, 2017

Emily Mae Reber, 88, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Thursday, March 30th, at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Pine Grove on January 13, 1929, she was a daughter of the late William & Cora (Berger) Zimmerman.

She was the wife of Ross R. "Shorty" Reber. The couple would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on June 23, 2017

Emily was a Schuylkill Haven High School graduate, Class of 1947, and was formerly employed by local textile factories.

She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven.

In addition to her husband, Emily is also survived by two daughters: Doris M. Kreiser & husband, Eugene, Auburn, and Joanne E. Stager & husband, Ronald, Reedsville, four granddaughters: Valerie Kreiser & companion, Jeffrey Koch, Brenda Kreiser & companion, Vincent Heckman, Kathleen Stager Swartz, & Michelle Weader & companion, Kip McElwain, Jr., as well as great-grandchildren: Jarid Kreiser & wife, Amber, Derek & Courtney Kramer, Nicholas Koch, Lannie McCullough & husband, Anthony, Miranda Shoop, and Zachary Weader, great-great-granddaughter, Skylar McCullough, a sister, Faye Zechman, widow of Walter, Pine Grove, and a brother, Arthur Zimmerman & wife, Linda, Schaumburg, IL.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Claire Starr, and three brothers: William, Marlin, & Ronald Zimmerman.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5th, with Rev. Janet Lewis officiating.

A viewing for family and friends will be held Wednesday 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Interment will follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
