Fearon R. "Rick" Stiver, Jr., 79, of Pottsville, passed away Wednesday, April 3rd, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - East Campus, Pottsville.
Born in Elkton, MD on January 5, 1945, he was the son of the late Fearon R. Stiver, Sr. & Margaret Etta (Hess) Stiver.
In February, Rick & Marlene E. (Dietterick) Stiver celebrated 54 years of marriage.
After graduation from Bloomsburg High School in 1964, Rick served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964-1968. He spent 1.5 years in Vietnam during the war and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant.
In 1977, Rick graduated from Alvernia College, Reading, where he received a Bachelor's Degree.
For 22 years, he served as a Pennsylvania State Trooper. Rick's first assignment was at the Fogelsville Barracks, with his last assignment at the Hamburg Barracks. He belonged to the Fraternal Order of Police.
He and his wife owned and operated Highland Greens Tree Farm, New Ringgold for 20 years.
He was a member of Grace Free Church, Cressona.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Rick enjoyed wood carving, photography, and traveling with his wife in their RV across the United States.
In addition to his wife, Rick is survived by his daughter, Robyn, wife of Steve Howell, of Schuylkill Haven; son, Bryan, husband of Marianne Stiver, of Landingville; and grandchildren, Chloe and Gretchen Howell.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Gary Stiver and sister, Connie Konopelski.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, April 10th at Grace Free Church, Cressona. A visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the time of service. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
