Filippo Valenti, 90, of Pottsville, passed away Friday, October 7th, at his residence.
Filippo was born in Burgio, Sicily on October 4, 1926, a son of the late Virginia (Miceli) and Vito Valenti.
He was the husband of Vita (Modica) Valenti.
He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.
He opened the Roman Delight Restaurant in the Fairlane Village Mall, Pottsville in 1976.
Filippo is preceded in death by his brothers Antonio and Guiseppe and a sister Mary Savoca.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Vito Valenti husband of Kelli, Pottsville and Carmelo Valenti husband of Jennifer, Orwigsburg; grandchildren Phillip, Gabriella, Vito, Filippo, Olivia, Lucia and Samson Valenti; and a brother Dima Valenti husband of Vita, Burgio, Sicily.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 11th, with Rev. Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik officiating.
A viewing for family and friends will be held Tuesday 8:00 am - 10:00 am at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., 25 East Main Street, Schuylkill Haven.
Interment will be private.
