Frances E. "Hon" McCord, 86, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday with her family by her side, at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg, where she had been a resident.
Born in Schuylkill Haven, May 4, 1928, she was a daughter of the late James F. and Catherine Holton McCord.
Frances was the owner and operator of McCord's Beauty Salon, Schuylkill Haven, and was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be missed dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, including local residents, Mercedes "Merk" Carl, Jerry McCord and Robert V. "Skeet" McCord.
She is survived by a daughter, Kym Hasenauer; three grandchildren, Seneca Anthony and her companion, Carter Hoffman, Amber Brown, wife of Doug Brown, and Chad Hasenauer and his wife, Alice Hasenauer, all of Schuylkill Haven; six great-grandchildren who loved their "Ge Gee" very much, Taylor Anthony, Daeson Hasenauer, Carson Auker, Ainsley and Abree Brown, and Trayten Hasenauer; a brother, Harry McCord, Toms River, N.J.; a sister-in-law, Shirley McCord, Schuylkill Haven; five step great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be privately held at the family's convenience.
