Hazel C. (Steranko) Purcell

Hazel C. Purcell, 83, formerly of Wayne Twp., passed away Tuesday, June 20, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street, Pottsville.

Born April 4, 1940, in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn (Geiger) Steranko.

She was the widow of Patrick E. Purcell, who passed away June 7, 2007.

In addition to her parents and husband, Hazel was preceded in death by her sister, Dolores Steranko.

Hazel had been employed as a floor lady for local textile factories. She also enjoyed dancing.

Hazel is survived by daughters, Debra Geisinger, of Minersville, Ella, wife of James Martin, of Port Carbon, and Maureen, wife of Michael Bologna, of Schuylkill Haven; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her companion, Ronald Kinsinger, of Friedensburg; a brother, Charles, husband of Marie Steranko, of South Carolina; a sister, Shirley, wife of William Hopkins, of Summit Station; nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the family's convenience.
