Jacob J. Jamison, 91, of Pine Grove, passed away Thursday, May 4th, at Providence Place, Pine Grove.

Born at home in Washington Township, PA on September 6, 1931, he was a son of the late Horace Jamison and Hattie (Kerschner) Jamison.

The last surviving member of his immediate family, he is also preceded in death by all of his 11 siblings.

Jacob was the loving husband of Eleanor O. (Wildermuth) Jamison, his high school sweetheart.  Married on October 16, 1954, the couple shared 68 years of marriage together.

He was a 1951 graduate of Cressona High School where he played football; and he proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Jacob was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal,

and Good Conduct Medal.

He was a member of Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church at Reedsville.

Jacob was formerly employed by Garden State Tanning, Pine Grove, and retired from the Chestnut Operating Tannery, Reading.

He was a gardener, hunter, and lifelong beekeeper from the age of 16 to 89.

He was a member of the Pine Grove Legion Post #374, VFW Post #3432 in Pine Grove, and Roedersville Game and Fish.

Jacob is survived by three daughters: Beth, wife of Richard Lutz, Cynthia, wife of Jeffrey Freeman, all of Pine Grove area; and Heidi, wife of James Irwin, of Marietta, PA; grandchildren: Rebecca Lutz, Blair Freeman, Evan Freeman, husband of Beth, Lauren Irwin, and Luke Irwin; great-granddaughter, Abigail Freeman; nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the family's convenience.

At the family's request, memorial donations may be forwarded to Bethesda Evangelical Congregational Church, 23 Meadowbrook Dr., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
