James Victor "Jim" Dailey

July 17, 1940 — January 7, 2015

James Victor "Jim" Dailey, 74, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Wednesday at home.

Born in Schuylkill Haven, July 17, 1940, he was a son of the late Victor Albert and Ella Marie Hoover Dailey.

He was the husband of Dorothy M. "Dot" Hauntsman Dailey.

Jim was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven. He was a lifetime member of Rainbow Hose Company No. 1, Schuylkill Haven, and was a longtime coach of Schuylkill Haven midget football.

He was employed as a delivery van driver for Air Brake, Mount Carbon. He was the previous owner of Connors Crossing Beverage, Cressona.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Eleanor Pepper and Alice Orio.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Dottie Walker and husband, Dan, Scranton, and Linda Litwack, Schuylkill Haven; a son, James V. Dailey Jr. and wife, Dawn, North Carolina; grandchildren, Samantha and Dylan Litwack and James and Erica Dailey; and two sisters, Victoria Boyer, widow of Leonard, Orwigsburg, and Joan Crossley, widow of John, Earlville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, celebrated by Monsignor Edward S. Zemanik. A viewing will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Monday in the chapel of the church. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Rockville, MD 20852.
