Jan P. Schaeffer, 75, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday, August 27th, at Hershey Medical Center, Hershey.
Jan was born in Pottsville, on January 6, 1942, a son of the late Catherine (Hill) and Cyril Schaeffer.
He was the husband of Kay M. (Bickel) Schaeffer.
Jan was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High Schuylkill, Class of 1959. He was formerly employed as a Foreman for the Borough of Schuylkill Haven at the Water Treatment Plant. Jan attended St. John's United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven. He was a life member of the NRA, Schuylkill Hose Co. #2, East End Gun Club and the Buckhorn Gun Club. He was a member of the Deer Lake and West Brunswick Fire Co., Strausstown Rod and Gun Club, Summit Station Fire Co. and the Schuylkill Lodge #138 F&AM. He also was the Captain of the Blue Mountain Lakes Pool Team.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Jennifer Schaeffer wife of Jeff, Schuylkill Haven; brother Robert Schaeffer husband of Gail, Wallingford, Ct; nieces and nephews; and his little buddy Bennett Morgalis.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc. , Schuylkill Haven, at 11 am on Wednesday, August 30th, with Rev. Janet Lewis officiating.
A viewing for family and friends Wednesday 9:30 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
