Jean Miles Thoma, 96, of Pottsville, died peacefully on Saturday, February 21st, in Orwigsburg.
She was the daughter of the late Stanley & Louise (Bowman) Miles. She was the loving and devoted wife of Carl Thoma.
Born & raised in Wilkes-Barre, she was a graduate of Meyers High School, Wyoming Seminary, and Wilkes-Barre Business School.
She held several secretarial positions including civil service, Hecth's and the United Way of Lehigh Valley.
She married her loving husband, Carl in 1945 after his return from African & European services in WWII. She & her husband retired from Lehigh Valley to Myrtle Beach, SC, in 1978, and returned to Pennsylvania in 2004.
She is surivived by Carl, her loving husband of 69 years, son Mark Thoma & his wife, Ruthann, Jamestown, NC, daughter, Karen, wife of Joseph Haggerty, Jr., Auburn, four grandchildren: Brian Thoma, High Point, NC, Kevin Thoma, Greensboro, NC, Joseph Haggerty III, Philadelphia, and Olivia Kratzer, Allentown, eight great-grandchildren, and grand-dog, Hank. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sharon Thoma and brother, George W. Miles. She will be deeply missed by her loving family.
Service and interment will be privately held at the family's convenience.
