Joan V. (Yocum) Harig

Joan V. Harig, 80, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born in Saint Clair, she was a daughter of the late Howard and Rose (Kilpatrick) Yocum.

She was the widow of Howard Paul Harig Sr.

She was a homemaker most of her life.

In addition to her husband, Joan was preceded in death by her brother, James Yocum.

Joan is survived by her children, Shirley, wife of Dennis Derstine, of Birdsboro, Debbie Harig, of Schuylkill Haven, Joanie, wife of Tim Cortelyou, of Herndon, Howard P. Jr., husband of Angela Harig, of Schuylkill Haven and Paul, husband of Connie Harig, of Summit Station; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sister, Rosanne Farone, of N.H.; and her brother, Larry Yocum, of Conn.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc. in Schuylkill Haven, with Justin Woulard officiating. A viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Summer Hill Cemetery, Auburn.
