John Michael Kotch, 83, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Saturday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Allentown.

Born in Tuscarora, Feb. 6, 1932, he was a son of the late John and Theresa Holage Kotch.

John served in the Air Force in the Korean War. He worked as the borough manager of Schuylkill Haven, served on the borough council and worked for his brother at J.F. Kotch Construction Co., Macungie.

He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, and American Legion Post 38, Schuylkill Haven.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph F. Kotch.

He is survived by a daughter, Lori Kotch, Schuylkill Haven; sons, John Kotch, husband of Sheila, Schuylkill Haven, and Kevin Kotch, Cherry Hill, N.J.; five grandchildren, Julianne and Caroline Kotch, Kodie, Bryan and Keshia; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathryn Jakubco, Pottsville, Dorothy Kotch, Tuscarora, and Theresa Yacobowsky, wife of Paul, Tuscarora; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Robert Reiley officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to American Legion Post 38, P.O. Box 314, Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
