John W. “Butch” Miller, Jr., 66, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday, May 3rd, at Lehigh Valley Medical Center, Allentown.
Born in Pottsville, March 11, 1950, he was a son of the late John W. Miller, Sr. & Betty Mae (Snyder) Miller.
Butch was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1969.
He was a lifetime member of the Reading Motorcycle Club and Robert E. Baker Post #38 American Legion, Schuylkill Haven, where he served on the firing squad.
Butch was most recently employed by Schuylkill Haven Borough where he worked at the Waste Water Treatment Plant, and had been previously employed by Exide Battery, Hamburg.
In addition to his parents, Butch is also preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda (Dove) Reifsnyder.
He is survived by a daughter, SGT Laura Miller & fiance, Maloa Igafo, Schuylkill Haven, four grandchildren; Camryn (11), Manaia (4), Zoie (9) & Parker (7), and his companion of 15 years, Tracey Zvorsky & her sons; Ryan Zvorsky, husband of Jennifer (Buehler), & Nicholaus Zvorsky, Pottsville.
Butch was a dedicated father who always put his children first. Although he never served in the military, Butch was devoted to Veteran’s causes and was extremely proud of his daughter Laura’s military service. In recent years, his greatest pleasure was spending quality time with Tracey riding his Harley on the open road or traveling to new and exciting destinations.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 7th, with Certified Celebrant, Caitlyn Ebling officiating.
A visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow the service at Cressona Cemetery. The family requests that, in honor and memory of John “Butch” Miller, to please ride your motorcycle and join the procession to the cemetery.
