Joseph D. Bell

Joseph D. Bell, 95, of Honey Brook, died at Tel Hai Retirement Community on October 15th. Son of the late Walter and Elizabeth Haldeman Bell he was born September 20, 1929 in Pottsville. He and his wife, Suzanne, were married 68 years.
Joe graduated from Pottsville High School in 1947 and from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1956 with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the Army in Germany from 1948-50 and in Korea from 1950-51. Joe worked for Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Raleigh, NC and for Metropolitan Edison Company in Reading and Easton. He was a member of Living God Lutheran Church, Honey Brook and the Appalachian Mountain Club. He served many years maintaining trails & shelters.
Joe is survived by his wife, Suzanne; sons David (Diane), Honey Brook; Daniel (Robyn), Olney, MD; and Douglas (Joan), Cumming, GA; Grandchildren Andrew, Lauren, Tyler, Miranda, Nolan, Haley, Bryan, Jason and Jenna.
There will be a private family graveside service at Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. Memorials may go to the Good Samaritan Fund or the Chaplain Services Fund, Tel Hai Retirement Community, 1200 Tel Hai Circle, Honey Brook, PA 19344.
