Joyce K. Brenneman, 87, of Pottsville, passed away Thursday at Luther Ridge at Seiders Hill, Pottsville.
Born in Minersville, Feb. 5, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Edward G. and Effie M. Davis Jones.
She was the widow of Frederick Brenneman, who passed away in 1993.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a graduate of Minersville High School, Class of 1946, and Rembrandt Beauty Academy, Pottsville.
As a young woman she was a water safety instructor for the American Red Cross for 20 years and taught many Schuylkill County children how to swim. She worked at Pomeroy's and the Red Cross helping servicemen return home on sick leave. She was an avid bowler and served on the United States Bowling Congress.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jack G. Rozetar; a sister, Alma E. Young.
Joyce is survived by a son, Robert W. Rozetar, husband of Annette, Schickshinny; grandchildren, Jack G. Rozetar, Schoemakersville, husband of Melissa, Shannon Bohannon, Kaska, Lt. Col. Robert W. Rozetar III, husband of Kerri, Duncan, S.C., and James Rozetar, husband of Melissa, Minersville; nine great-grandchildren; two nieces, Karen Seaman, Schuylkill Haven, and Phyllis Wood, Clearwater, Fla.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, with the Rev. John Wallace officiating. A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in at Mount Peace Cemetery, Minersville. The family requests memorial donations be sent to the American Red Cross, 1402 West Laurel Blvd., Pottsville, PA 17901.
