Judith Elizabeth (Shoener) Green

On June 20, 2023, Judith Elizabeth Shoener Green went home.

Judy was born June 1, 1938, to Lester Newton Shoener Sr. and Ethel Grace Quinter Shoener, of Schuylkill Haven.

She graduated from Schuylkill Haven High School, Class of 1956, and was employed by the former Schuylkill Trust Co. Judy co-owned V&E Fuel Sales with her husband until retirement.

She was an active member of Covenant United Methodist Church.

Judy married Donald Harry Green on March 1, 1957. In 1958, they welcomed their son, Gregory Donald Green, into the world.

Judy was predeceased by her husband, Donald, who passed away Feb. 14, 2018, and by her mother and father, Ethel and Lester Sr.

Judy is survived by her son, Gregory (Amanda Edwards); brother, Lester Shoener II (Georgine); nieces, Rebecca Shoener (Josh) and Leslie Gipe (Corey); and grandchildren, Nathan, Morgan (Abbey) and Hannah Green (Kevin), who lovingly called her Grandfur.

When Judy wasn't sewing, she was pulling weeds in her garden or watching the swans float by on Stoyer's Dam. In the fall, she was an apple dumpling fundraiser. If you wanted one, Judy gave you four. She would laugh with you until the sun went down, even if she couldn't remember why you were laughing in the first place. Judy was a lover of lighthouses, and with her passing, each beam on every coast will reflect the love that she shined.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
