Kenneth R. Beck, 73, of Schuylkill Haven, died Saturday at Laurel Rehab Center, Hamburg, Berks County.
Kenneth was born in Pottsville, March 7, 1943, a son of the late Kenneth M. and Evelyn Dress Beck. He was the widower of Linda Staller Beck, who died Oct. 4, 2011.
Ken was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven, Schuylkill Haven Fire Police, Schuylkill Haven American Legion and all Schuylkill Haven fire departments.
Ken attended Milton Hershey School for Boys for nine years. After school, he joined the Navy, and was honorably discharged from the military in 1961. Ken then started his career as a long-haul truck driver. Throughout his career, Ken received numerous driving awards. Ken retired from Caretta Trucking.
Ken's hobbies included woodworking, hunting with grandchildren, boating and fishing, being a part of the Never Hit Gun Club and butchering with his longtime friend, Jerry Moyer.
Ken and wife, Linda, were preceded in death by a daughter, Bonita Beck, who died June 11, 1971.
Kenneth is survived by two daughters, Donna Henninger, partner of Christopher Chiarlanza, and Tina Roland, wife of Kyle Roland; a brother, Barry Beck, Florida; son-in-law, David C. Henninger; two grandchildren, David "Jake" Henninger, husband of Kayleigh, and Samantha Henninger, partner of Jeffrey Angstadt; four great-grandchildren, Owen and Weston Angstadt, Alexandra Poncelet and Zeth Roland.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc. The family would prefer contributions to Support Homeless Veterans, 119 S. Easton Road, Glenside, PA 19038. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven, is in charge of arrangements.
