Kenneth C. Blankenhorn

Kenneth C. Blankenhorn, 91, formerly of Pottsville, passed away Sunday while in the company of his family members at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, Lancaster County.

Ken was born in Pottsville, May 30, 1926, a son of the late John K. and M. Elizabeth Schuettler Blankenhorn.

He graduated from Pottsville High School and proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II. He was a career electrician and 48-year member of the IBEW local 143.

Ken was the husband of Yvonne "Snowy" Adams Blankenhorn for 64 years.

Ken was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the following organizations: Pottsville Pulaski F&AM Lodge 216, Valley of Bloomsburg Consistory AASR of Freemasons, Reading Shrine and Tall Cedars of Lebanon.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Blankenhorn; a sister, Marguerite Lindenmuth.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Marion Blankenhorn, Pottsville; a daughter, Diane, wife of George W. Allison, Livingston, Texas; a son, Kenneth J., husband of Kathleen McManus Blankenhorn, Lebanon, N.J.; three grandchildren, Matthew J. Allison (wife, Allyson), Girardville, Marine Corps Lt. Col. Brett A. Allison (wife, Kimberly), Chesapeake, Va., and Elizabeth K. Blankenhorn, Arlington, Va.; six great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch St., Pottsville. Family and friends may call at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment with military honors will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be sent to Masonic Village Hospice, 1 Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022, or Trinity Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 300 W. Arch St., Pottsville, PA 17901.
