Kenneth G. "Heiny" Heinbach

Auburn

Kenneth G. "Heiny" Heinbach, 95, formerly of Auburn, passed away Friday, July 19th, at Pinebrook Personal Care Facility, Orwigsburg, where he had been a resident for 4 months.


Born in Auburn on March 8, 1929, he was a son of the late Arthur & Edith (Schaeffer) Heinbach.


Heiny was the widower of Betty (Koch) Witmier Heinbach. They were married on October 25, 1980.


He graduated from Auburn High School with the Class of 1947.


Heiny served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War.


He retired in 1991 from the former Reneer Films, now OMNOVA, Auburn.


Heiny was a member of St. John's Church, Auburn.  He was a member of the Auburn Game & Fish where he was the past president for 15 years.  He was a lifetime member of the Auburn Historical Society, and worked tirelessly maintaining the Auburn Memorial Park. Heiny was a member of the Auburn Fire Company and he was active in Auburn Little League, having coached for 19 years.


In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sisters: Arlene Davis, & Fern Warner, and brother Richard Heinbach.


Heiny is survived by two step-sons: Barry Witmier, husband of Eilene, Orwigsburg; and Brian Witmier, husband of Leigh Ann, Auburn, two grandsons: Bryn Witmier, husband of Jess; and Kevin Witmier husband of Kayla, Schuylkill Haven; and two great-grandchildren: Kyle, & Kensley.


Graveside Services will be held at Saint John's New Cemetery, Auburn on Monday at 10 AM with Rev. Walter Breiner officiating.  A Celebration of Life will follow at 10:30 at the Auburn Game & Fish Association, 29 River Road, Auburn.  All are welcome.
