Kenneth P. "Chopper" Miller Jr., 69, of Cressona, passed away Monday at Reading Hospital, West Reading.

Born in Coaldale, Aug. 24, 1945, he was a son of Kenneth P. Miller Sr., New Ringgold, and the late Miriam R. Miller Miller.

He was the husband of Debra J. Zimmerman Miller, celebrating 28 years of marriage.

Chopper was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, Class of 1963. He retired from Sapa after working for 25 years in the extrusion department.

He served his country for 26 years in the Army National Guard and was a veteran of both Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

He was a member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona, a proud member of the Cressona Legion, Cressona Rod & Gun Club, Pine Grove VFW and the Second Mountain Rod & Gun Club pool team.

Chopper enjoyed teaching his children how to hunt and fish and he loved riding his Harley. A creative mind, he enjoyed woodworking and building things. He enjoyed attending and assisting his children in all sporting events. He loved to travel and enjoyed taking vacations and enjoying his family.

Surviving, in addition to his father and wife, are three loving sons, Kenneth P. Miller III, Orwigsburg, Erik L. Miller and his wife, Denise, Berlin, N.J., and Alexander J. Miller, East Quoge, N.Y.; as well to being "Pappy Chopper" to his three granddaughters, Marianna, Brenna and Abby Miller.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mark's United Church of Christ, Cressona, with the Rev. Nathan Druckenmiller officiating. A visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, at the family's convenience. At the family's request, memorial donations may be sent to St. Mark's United Church of Christ, P.O. Box 55, Cressona, PA 17929 or American Cancer Society, 101 Frack St., Frackville, PA 17931-1734.
