Kevin William Houtz, 38, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday at his residence.
Born in Reading, Sept. 25, 1979, he was a son of Donna Bowen-Rizzuto, Schuylkill Haven, and Marvin P. Houtz, Shenandoah.
He was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and McCann School of Business & Technology.
Kevin was employed as a custodian for McCann School of Business & Technology, Pottsville.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Joyce Bowen; cousin, Brenden Bowen, stepfather, Al Rizzuto; paternal grandfather, William Houtz Sr.; paternal uncle, William Houtz Jr.; stepbrother, Nick McCabe.
In addition to his parents, Kevin is also survived by his sister, Amy Houtz and her son, Davin Bowers; sister, Cassidy Houtz; stepmother, Kimberly Houtz; stepsisters, Kristen and Meagan McCabe; stepbrothers, Thomas and Eric McCabe; paternal grandmother, Edith Houtz; aunts, including Sharon Fryer, Beverly Houtz, Jody Bowen, Debra Bowen and Diane Stock; uncles, including Wayne and Mark Bowen, Greg Houtz, Jim Fryer and Rich Stock; cousins, including Bryce, Caitria, Calista and Chad Bowen, Ricky, Paul, Matt and Trystan Harrison, Jamie and Becky Fryer Donton and her husband, John, who was Kevin's good friend and weightlifting buddy, Bob and Joe Krammes, Jamie Stoeber and her husband, Eddie, Dr. Jess Walters, Josh Stock, Patty, Jim, Justin and Alyssa Gerber, Les and Randy Fessler; good friends, Scott Lyons and Mike Keller.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Jim Fryer officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date.
