LaJeune H. Steidle, 92, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday at Rest Haven nursing home, Schuylkill Haven.
Born in Schuylkill Haven, July 18, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Amanda Borda Fidler.
She was the widow of John H. Steidle, who preceded her in death in 1992.
LaJeune was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and Ford School of Business, Pottsville.
She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven, and was formerly employed by The Call as editor, until her retirement in 2009.
LaJeune is survived by a daughter, Holly Steidle, Schuylkill Haven; son, Randy Steidle and wife, Betty Jane, Reading; sister, Patricia Peiffer, Lebanon; step-great-grandchild, Veronica Esser; niece, Kerrise Wise and husband, Eric, Lebanon; and nephew, Kyle Peiffer, Lancaster.
A private graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven, at the family's convenience. At the family's request, memorial donations in LaJeune's memory may be sent to Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901.
