Lamar S. Phillips

Lamar S. Phillips, 100, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Tuesday, September 17th, at Laurel Nursing Home, Hamburg.

Born in Pottsville on July 19, 1924, he was the son of the late James F. Phillips, Sr. & Helen (Popowich) Phillips.

Lamar was the widower of Jane L. (Letcher) Frantz Phillips, his wife of 26 years.

He graduated from Pottsville Catholic High School.

A WWII Veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy.

Lamar is survived by Jane's children including her daughter and his caretaker, Kimberly Long & her husband, Randy. Together they are survived by 14 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his daughter-in-law, Danette Goshert & her husband, Rick.

In addition to his wife and parents, Lamar is preceded in death by siblings, James F. Phillips, Jr., Jerome D. Phillips, Clare R. Phillips; and children, Mary Phillips, Lorraine C. Phillips Johnston, and Robert S. Phillips.

Services and Interment will be held privately at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
