Leona L. Krieg, 99, of Wyomissing, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Sunday at Wyomissing Health and Rehabilitation Center, Wyomissing.
Born in Pottsville, May 25, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Samuel and Ida Wein Lord.
She was the widow of F. Russell Krieg Sr., who passed away Aug. 22, 1991. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Gretchen; as well as three siblings, Helen Johnson and Wilson and Harold Lord.
Leona was a graduate of Pottsville High School and a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. She also belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was formerly employed by Bell Telephone as an operator.
Leona is survived by a son, Frederick R. "Rick" Krieg Jr. and wife, Sharon, Wyomissing; and a grandson, Brian.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home Inc., 25 E. Main St., Schuylkill Haven, with the Rev. Harold Hand officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
