Leonard W. Matz

Leonard W. Matz, 79, of Surfside Beach, SC, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 1st, with his loving wife Gwen, daughter Ashley, and faithful companion, Blue, by his side. Lenny’s true passion was the owner/grower of Knarr’s greenhouses and flowers, where for 30 years, his family and friends helped the business flourish. Lenny eventually retired from Penn State Schuylkill campus.

Lenny is also survived by his sister, Debbie Madrigal and her husband Robert, various in-laws, nieces and nephews, and his lifelong coffee friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother.

Lenny was a Purple Heart recipient for his service during the Vietnam War.

A viewing will be held for friends and family from 11 AM until 1 PM on Friday, March 8th at Geschwindt Stabingas Ebling Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven.

Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
