Leslie J. (Wessner) Schoffstall

November 21, 1961 — February 25, 2016

Leslie J. Schoffstall, 54, of Wayne Township, passed away Thursday, February 25th, at the West Reading Hospital.

Born in Pottsville on November 21, 1961, she was a daughter of Lois J. (Meyers) Wessner, of Auburn and the late Ralph P. “Mush” Wessner.

In addition to her father, Leslie was also preceded in death by her son, Brent Schoffstall.

She was the wife of Joseph H. Schoffstall, whom she married in 1983.

She was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School, Class of 1979.

Leslie was a member of the track and field team and the swim team.  She was inducted into the Blue Mountain All Sports Hall of Fame and currently holds the track record for the 100 and 200 meter dash. Leslie served as the girls’ track and field coach at Blue Mountain High School.

She was a member of Grace Evangelical Free Church, Cressona, and was currently attending Christ Evanglical Free Curch, Strausstown .

Leslie and her husband were the co-owners of Schuylkill Paving.

In addition to her mother and husband, Leslie is also survived by two daughters: Allyson VanMaaren & husband, John, Dundas Ontario, Canada, and Paige Lurwick & husband, Michael, Orwigsburg, and a son,Jordan Schoffstall & wife Candice, Schuylkill Haven, as well as a newborn grandchild, Adelyn, and another grandchild on the way.

She is also survived by three brothers: Ronald G. Wessner & wife, Gloria Jean, Auburn, Craig B. Wessner & wife, Val, Auburn, and Joel F. Wessner & wife, Elsie, Williamsport and her mother-in-law, June Schoffstall, Schuylkill Haven.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Grace Evangelical Free Church, Cressona, at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2nd, with Rev. Mark Crocco officiating.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 1st from 6 to 8 p.m. at Grace Evangelical Free Church. An additional viewing time will be held Wednesdsay morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Interment will immediately follow the service at St. John’s New Cemetery, Auburn.

At the family's request, memorial donations in Leslie’s name may be sent to the Blue Mountain Track Boosters, 1076 W. Market St., Schuylkill Haven, PA 17972.
