Lydia I. "Peggy" Smith, 95, of Cressona, passed away May 28th, at home with her children by her side.
Born in Cressona on July 15, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin & Lydia (Dewald) Hoster.
She is also preceded in death by an infant sister, and two brothers: Franklin & Leroy Hoster.
She was a member of St. Marks in Cressona and Beckville Gun Club and enjoyed hunting and archery while growing up.
Following graduation from Cressona High School, Peggy attended Temple University on a scholarship. Soon after, she moved to California and worked nights as a registered nurse. After several years she moved back with her family and was the night nursing supervisor at the Pottsville Hospital until retirement.
Peggy also enjoyed camping and took her children on several cross-country trips by car and train. She also took flying lessons in California.
She is survived by daughter, Lindsey, wife of Bill George, and son, Brad Smith; as well as grandchildren: Chris, Tammy, & Amber; a great-granddaughter Autumn, and great-great-grandson Brendin.
Private services were held at the family's convenience.
