Marie F. (Colclough) Hochgertel

Marie F. Hochgertel, 93, Pottsville, passed away Friday, November 20th, at home.

Born in Pottsville, PA on November 19, 1927, a daughter of the late Theresa (Homer) and Irvin Colclough.

She was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School in 1945 and a graduate of Ford School of Business in 1946.

Prior to the birth of her children she was employed as the bookkeeper for W. Guy Payne Florist.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church.

Marie had a special Devotion to the daily rosary. She loved music and enjoyed shopping with Jane and her grandchildren. She was especially happy with a big "W" by her very favorite team the Phillies.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years William J. Hochgertel on September 11, 2003, a brother W. Gerorge Colclough, Three sisters Catherine Colclough, Teresa Colclough and Margaret Campion, a daughter in law Sally Hochgertel.

Marie is survived by a daughter, Jane M. Hochgertel, of Pottsville with whom she resided; two sons Daniel W. Hochgertel, of Pottsville; Pastor Mark F Hochgertel., husband of Cathy, of Lake Wynonah.

She is also survived by 5 grandchildren Dr. William Hochgertel, Kathryn Miller wife of Bryan, Abigail wife of Ruddy Grubbs, Aaron Hochgertel husband of Georgia and Adam Hochgertel (her Sweetie Pie) and 1 great grandchild Declan Miller

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, November 25th at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Pottsville, PA with Monsignor Edward O'Connor officiating. There is no public viewing prior to Mass.

Family requests remembrances in the form of contributions to St. Patrck's Roman Catholic Church or 319 Mahantongo Street Pottsville, PA 17901.

Interment private at convenience of the Family Saint Patrick Cemetery Pottsville, PA.
